May 05 A little Update Things still not too good. I am still snappy but he has also noticed Dollar is towards me. Barry is having to rely on others to walk us at nights although he struggles on his scooter to take us all during the days. At night time he insists I go out more often with Willie and Dollar goes on her own although he does alter things sometimes and I go on my own and Dollar with Willie. Willie is now as tall as Dollar and I although not as heavy. Barry still insists on cooking for us although we don't get the Yorkshire puddings on Sundays as he says the mixing takes too much out of him. We do get veg and gravy though and scrambled eggs instead. Barry keeps going off to hospital and he says he hope he is at home with us now until the 15th May although he also says he aims to be home in the evening. This mornings roast chicken is still in the air even though we all ate every piece including Dinky. I thought I would leave you with that nice thought. Take Care Everyone Love and Wishes Tessa, Dollar, Willie, Dinkie and Barry April 20 Things not going wellThe title is for me and not Barry although he isn't too good in himself. Although my seizures are no worse and still a long way between each, Barry is finding that I am snappy. I have had a few does with Dollar and nipped Wandering Willie a few times as well. I am looking a bit like a prize fighter and have a few scars to show with my disagreements with Dollar. Dollar I believe is fairly scar free as it seems I come off worst in these little does. Barry is trying to find out what has caused this change but he can only surmise and guess at reasons. Sadly Dollar, Willie and I are unable to tell either him or you. I have to go now although I will try and put more up in the next day or two. Take Care Love and Wishes Tessa April 08 Hi! Still Here Barry has let me loose but only for minutes. He got out of hospital Friday after quite a long stay this time. Geoff a neighbour has been coping looking after us and cat, which makes him and us eternally grateful for good friends. He is still able to take us for walks on his scooter but not allowed to do much or exert himself, although Willie who is still with us is much to big to sit on the footplate and ride now, although he is nearly as big as Dollar and I and loves running and playing. Take Care Love and wishes Barry, Tessa and the gang February 14 Back to Normalish Again The sun is shining brightly, reflecting a glare up from the remaining snow, and so the Doggles are definitely a necessity today. Breakfast was roast chicken but we shall be having heart and liver as well this week as Liam the butcher finally managed to get some for a change. Willie is getting to be a pain with his needle teeth. When we are playing they tend to hurt a bit. Not that I am wimpish or anything like that, but he isn't little any more and can crunch bones almost as well as Dollar and I. Never mind, apart from the teeth he is good fun to have around for playing with. On Thursday he had his first swimming lesson thanks to Dollar. Over on the nature reserve where the snow has melted quite a bit, there are big puddles forming as the frozen ground is stopping the melt soaking away. At night time this melt water is freezing over but not really that thick. Dollar says it all happened when 2 Jackdaws were standing on the middle of the biggest puddle. Willie went running over the ice to chase them and like birds, they flew away. He stopped to bark at them while still standing in the middle and Dollar being a bit scatterbrained at times, ran over to him. You guessed. Her weight broke all the ice as she ran and when she got to Willie, he went tumbling through the ice. Right over his head in depth, although it was just up to Dollars tummy. Anyhow, with a bit of splashing and shouting, he eventually swam and then ran out of the water. Yesterday, the Jackdaws were there again, but he ran all the way around the pool, instead of running over it. He learns fast with some things. It would be nice though to have him rehomed as well though, as it isn't big enough here for him as he grows, and it is putting extra pressure on Barry as it is time, in fact it is past the time for starting his training and he hasn't had any yet. Dinky has been enjoying the snow as much as us but as Uncle Geoff takes us for our last big walk, she hasn't been coming with us as it is too early and she just goes on the last small walk, to give Willie a last chance to use the loo. He doesn't like the snowballs though which Geoff throws for us. His progress with the scooter though is coming on and the past few days, Barry has decided he is too big to sit on the running board and so he has learned to walk on the lead beside Dollar and the scooter. That's it for now. This has taken me hours to get up with Barry being so fidgety and it is time for another walk with him, so I suppose I better close and get my Doggles on. Take Care Everyone Love and Wishes on this Valentines day Tessa The Story of Wandering Willie by Lorraine Hi Barry
Thanks for the pitures of WONDERING WILLY,....can i tell you a funny story about that name...
It is something that happened to me...my sister..and a friend when we were about 13/14
Near where we lived, there was a coffee bar that all the kids used to hang around in after school
Once we had been good and done our home work of course...ha ha
Anyway one evening we 3 girls were just coming home, and it
was just getting dark, ...it was safe walking the streets in those days,
Anyway we were just going passed the church yard on the
other side of the road, wouldn't dare go on the side of the church yard
too creepy, anyway we heard whistling the sort of whistle you would call
a dog with, and when we looked over this man was standing with ( yes
the flashers mac ) and his trousers down to his knees, and he was
rocking backwards and forwards patting his tummy
Well you can imagine, we just ran, in those days there was
always a copper when you wanted one, and those little police phone
boxses.
As we got round the corner we saw a copper, when i think back now he was only young, he must have been in his 20's,
Anyway we told him what we had seen and he came back round
with us to see if he was still there, well of course he
wasn't,.....this copper took our names and addresses, and by then he
had been joined by another copper, anyway this young copper said to us
, ...you know don't you that if we catch him you might have to go to
court ( i realise now that he was just having a laugh ) they were safe
to do that in those days,...and the judge will ask you what it looked
like, ...well you can imagine can't you we were scared and of course
worried what our parents would say , my dad was very strict
Anyway we went on our way and we called him WONDERING WILLY
and to this day that name has stuck..... wonder if they ever found him.
Just thought you would like that
Love Lo xx February 11 Victoria Fire Appeal Using SpacesLive & Facebook among the many other things I do online when able, I have Friends all over the world like many of you reading this. What normally wouldn't have affected me personally has this time due to these online Friendships, and I know others reading this will have similar stories having read one at least on Aunt Janes site. I have lost two friends who communicated with me on an almost daily basis via the Facebook application. These friends also lost family and property as well as all their possessions. Could you consider helping those slightly more fortunate who have only lost possessions? If you live outside of Oz, the best way is via the Australian Red Cross site. I have found myself moved to help and know that many more of you out there will feel the same, but maybe not know how to start giving a donation. The link above is not just genuine but easy, safe and secure. I never ask others to do what I myself wouldn't so please consider if you can afford in this day and age when money is short for us all, if you can spare a few pounds. Yours in Love and Hope. Barry ![]() February 06 Thanks to Lorraine I would like to mention a regular reader, Lorraine. She writes to me and Barry regularly and finds comfort and happiness in my words and also in reading the Rainbow Bridge items as they bring comfort following the loss of her and her husbands own pet. It is for people like this, that I find it hardest, when I am unable to update. These messages that I receive from you all, are an inspiration for me and Barry to keep going with things and life. Dare I name you all who give me so much moral support. It would take so long to name you all, and I would feel bad if I missed one of you out. Happily though you know at least 5 as they comment regularly for all to see. Hopefully, a few more of you who seem to be shy of leaving open comments will start doing so, and others will be able to see that many of us have similar problems and can help and support each other in the knowledge that we have real and true friends out there in the ether. Take Care One and All Love and Wishes Tessa, Dollar and Barry Dinky and Wandering Willie A Little Update Well Barry is still getting us out during the day and Uncle Geoff at night and we are having great fun in the beautiful white stuff. The only down side as been last night, when I stood on some broken glass and slashed a chunk out of one of my pads. Geoff hadn't seen it as it had been smashed and then covered in snow, so the only person to blame is the mindless idiot who did it. It isn't too bad this morning, as Barry stuffed the gash with his magic lotion which stops the bleeding and seals the wound. Wandering Willie has found that he has a soft landing in the snow, when he jumps on our backs and we shake him off, mind you he is starting to get too big for that kind of trick. That's it for now. There is a bit more on the other site which is linked at the top of the page as Barry's Blogspot. Pop over and have a look. The one advantage it as over this site, is that it never stops you putting up a blog with a message "Unavailable at this time. Please try again later". The down side is that to leave a comment you need an account which is quite easy to set up. Take Care Everyone and ENJOY the white stuff, after all, it is doing the gardens and farmers fields good by upsetting all the bugs in the ground which damage the crops as well as flowers. Love and Wishes Tessa February 05 Snow, Wonderful Snow Due to cold wet paws, Tessa has asked me to put up a quick update for her. Well here at north Peterborough, we seem to have had more of the soft fluffy white stuff than most. The average level height without any wind or rather breeze blown stuff is just over 6 inches. The dogs think it is great and we went out for our walk just before 8 o'clock. Keeping the scooter speed off maximum, we were able to cope well, with little or no wheel spinning. The only problem was crossing car and cycle tracks which my little wheels wanted to follow and the pushing through higher snow than I had clearance under the scooter drained the battery much faster, meaning we had to turn round to go back much sooner. Much sooner actually being the distance we had travelled rather than the time we were out as we were still out about an hour. Tessa wasn't happy though having to wear her Doggles, as they all wanted to roll and rub in the snow. The pup though had a great time even though most of the snow reached his tummy. The septicemia is now cleared up, as also the internal infection which was causing my wound to open up and stopping it healing. The pain is managable and life is going on, but I am still finding it hard to concentrate or sit in a set position for long. That's it Take Care Out there Barry January 25 Pain and More Pain Well sorry I am unable to get on much, but although things are
improving slowly, Barry is still finding it impossible to sit at the
computer for more than a couple of minutes at a time. Willie is definitely here but hopefully not to stay. He just will not settle and is always wanting to play. he goes out for what should be for him, impossibly long walks, which he runs around on, from we leave home until we get back, driving Dollar and myself to distraction.Barry keeps threatening him with a one way ticket to the Chinese restaurant. The vet came out to see him on Wednesday, as Barry can't get as far as the vets now, and is happy how is is doing again. We have got rid of the nasty worms he came back with and he has put on over a stone (18 lb) since he came back. His testicles have dropped and so he is well and truly advanced for his tender young age of only 12 weeks today. I am doing ok and Dollar is having the occasional game now with Willie, although it is just occasional. He is learning to keep out of my food bowl, although Dollar still lets him eat out of hers. His toilet training is coming on, and is again asking to go out, (well mostly), but he is still having the occasional accident which really takes a lot out of Barry. It is just a pity that his last owner hadn't been as good as we believed he was going to be before Barry got him back. This has taken all day for me to write and I am closing now to go to bed. We have all had our last walk with Uncle Geoff and so lights out is calling. Take Care all of you out there. Love and Wishes Tessa, Dollar, Willie and Barry, Oh and Dinky. P.S. Willie has stopped jumping on her, although he still thinks it is fun to give her a little chase through the sitting room each time she comes in. Bye January 17 5 Years Old Today Thanks Aunty Ruth for reminding me I hit the BIG 4 0 today having survived five years. I suppose I will have to say thanks also for Dollar who obviously is also 5 although a bit younger than me. Love and Wishes back to you all Tessa & Dollar
